Puttnerová

She comes from South Moravia, from the village of Trboušany. She studied at Jan Blahoslav Grammar School in Ivančice, and later Finance and European Studies in Business and Economics in Brno. Although she did not complete her studies in Musicology at the Faculty of Arts in Brno, she later graduated in Jazz Music from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and College in Prague.

As a child, she spent hours sitting in the bathtub (and not only there), singing practically anything that came to mind. Years spent in the children’s choir Skřivánek and later in the Ondráš Military Artistic Ensemble strengthened her love for music ranging from classical to folk traditions.

A turning point came with her engagement in the bands Cymbelín and with Tomáš Šenkyřík, followed by important and ongoing collaborations with the bands Jablkoň, Půljablkoň: Němec & Puttnerová, Zvíře jménem Podzim, and in recent years as a regular guest performer with Mirek Kemel’s band, alongside numerous guest appearances across various genres. In her free time, she devotes herself to Gregorian chant.

Wherever she performs, she stands out for her vocal confidence and range, her broad stylistic versatility, and her exceptional musical sensitivity.

She stepped out of the role of an outstanding interpreter in the service of others with a mature and fully realized debut album. It took nearly ten years before she found the courage to create her own record, in collaboration with Martin Novák, Petr Uvira, and British producer Eddie Stevens. The result was the deeply personal, intimate, yet musically rich and subtly mysterious album Laila Tov. For this album, she received the Anděl Award in the Folk category, along with a series of outstanding reviews. A year later, in collaboration with Czech producer Petr Ostrouchov, she released an album of songs by Zuzana Navarová, which was also met with widespread critical acclaim.

Whether she sings settings of Jan Zahradníček’s poetry, the narrative lyrics of Vlasta Třešňák, her own lyrical songwriting, or fragments of traditional folk songs, these are never merely “ordinary songs.”
